Ivan had taught me patience when Heng and I went to UK for our study 25 years ago.  As our mutual friend, Lai Fun, had asked him for a favour to look out for us. Thinking it will be an easy job, he agreed.  Not knowing that the whole plane will be full of Asian students.  He had to patiently ask everyone that came out of the plane, “Are you Lai Fun’s friend?”

Whenever he visited Singapore, he was always very curious about Heng job.  Always asking and learning more. That, to me, is teaching me life long learning.

He never fail to make us laugh with his wit and humor and yet managed to keep his face straight.

I am thankful that I get to know him.  He will be missed.
